Our Workforce Is Leaving Us. What Will You Do?
Hello, I’m Janelle Peyton, CEO and Managing Partner at Peyton Law; and I heard some information last week that I wanted to share with you.
It’s that 60% of the current U.S. workforce is thinking about retirement – thinking about retirement in the next few years, and when is it right for them to retire? So, it got me thinking about my small business owner clients; and I am interested to know if you have employees that are getting close to that age, getting close to thinking about retirement; and how you plan on replacing them, or finding the skill set that they once brought to your company.
This also makes me think about succession planning. Are you, as a business owner, ready to sell your business, transfer it to your children or someone else that is in your family, or are you getting ready to close the doors?
There’s a lot of things to think about when when you’re looking at moving in that direction, and I just want to throw it out there, if you need any help with that, I’ve helped quite a few businesses do all of those things – buy and sell, transfer to children, and also just make sure that the doors were closed and that all the liabilities were cleaned up at the end.
I’m here if you have any questions. Hit reply. Let me know if you have any thoughts. If you do have employees that are getting ready to leave, I’m interested just to just to know a little bit more about what’s going on in our small business industry. So I’d love to hear from you and replying to this email is probably a great way. I’m also available for calls or text as well. Talk to you soon.
